IRGC Claims Missile and Drone Strikes on US Military Bases in Jordan and the UAE in Retaliation for US Attack on Iran’s Larak Island

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and military have claimed that Iran launched missile and drone attacks against US military facilities in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in retaliation for a recent US airstrike on Iran’s Larak Island.
The IRGC Aerospace Force said ballistic missiles were launched on Monday against the King Hussein and Al-Azraq air bases in Jordan. According to the IRGC, the strikes targeted technical and maintenance infrastructure as well as areas where fighter aircraft were deployed.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Army said it launched dozens of drones toward the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE. The Iranian military claimed that the attack targeted locations where US helicopters and military personnel were stationed.
Iran Claims Retaliation for Larak Island Strike
Iran’s Army said the operation was carried out in response to the recent US attack on Larak Island and the deaths of IRGC personnel and Iranian civilians.
Iranian authorities said their armed forces would continue to defend the country’s territory and security until what they described as regional threats were removed.
Warning Over the Strait of Hormuz
The IRGC warned that military aggression would not weaken Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz. The force said every attack against Iran would be met with an even stronger response.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy transit routes, meaning any further military escalation in the region could have significant implications for regional security and international energy markets.
Conflicting Claims Over the Attacks
Iran has claimed that its missile and drone operations caused significant damage to the targeted facilities. However, these claims have not been independently verified.
Jordanian authorities said its air-defence systems intercepted eight missiles following the Iranian attack, and no injuries were reported at the bases.
The US military said its earlier strike on Larak Island was intended to prevent Iranian forces from launching sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz. Washington described the operation as limited and precise.
The latest exchange of attacks marks a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and the United States and raises concerns about further instability around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
