Any New US Military Attack on Iran Will Be Met With a ‘Very Severe’ Response, Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Warns

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a stern warning that any new US military attack on Iran would be met with an extremely severe and more extensive response. He also praised the activities of Iran-backed armed groups across the Middle East, reiterating Tehran’s firm stance against Washington’s military actions.
Mojtaba Khamenei made these remarks in a message issued on Wednesday (November 4) marking the “Day of Struggle Against Global Arrogance.” According to Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, his message addressed Iran’s regional position, military defence capabilities and ongoing tensions with the United States.
Strait of Hormuz and Attacks on US Military Bases
Mojtaba Khamenei said Iran’s establishment of control over the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on US military bases across the Middle East were responses to Washington’s military actions. He warned that if such aggression were repeated in the future, Iran’s response would be even broader and more powerful.
In his words, “If such aggression happens again, the response will take on an even broader dimension.”
Praise for the Middle East’s ‘Resistance Front’
In his message, Iran’s Supreme Leader also praised the activities of what he described as the Middle East’s “Resistance Front.” Referring to armed groups in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen, he described their actions as “wise and powerful acts of heroism.”
Tehran has maintained political and military ties with these groups for many years. They play a significant role in Iran’s regional influence and security strategy across the Middle East.
Call to Further Strengthen Iran’s Defence Capabilities
Mojtaba Khamenei said recent developments had exposed the limitations of US military power. He also stressed the need to further strengthen Iran’s defence capabilities.
He stated, “Continuing the strategy of building a stronger Iran through comprehensive development is the only path to achieving full deterrence.”
The Iranian Supreme Leader’s remarks come at a time when military tensions between Tehran and Washington, along with regional security concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, remain at the centre of international attention. By warning of a broader retaliation in the event of another US attack, Iran has reaffirmed its position of resistance.
