After Suffering Military Defeat Against Iran, US Imposing Economic Pressure on Tehran to Offset Losses — Major General Ali Abdollahi

The United States is now imposing economic pressure and waging soft war and cognitive warfare against Tehran in an attempt to offset the losses it and its allies suffered in the military conflict with Iran, alleged Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command.

Speaking at a meeting with experts on soft war and cognitive warfare, he said Iran would not surrender under any circumstances and that the enemy’s psychological and information warfare would not succeed against a strong Iran.

Allegations of Economic Pressure Following Military Conflict

General Abdollahi claimed that, following strategic setbacks and defeats in the military conflict against Iran and the resistance front, the United States and Israel are now adopting alternative methods to achieve their objectives.

He said economic pressure, soft war and cognitive warfare are being used to put pressure on the Iranian people and undermine the country’s political and social stability.

However, he asserted that these tactics would also fail because of the resilience of the Iranian people and the sound judgment of the country’s officials.

Iran Will Not Surrender: Abdollahi

Major General Abdollahi said Iran is a nation that places its trust in its national and religious values and relies on Almighty God.

According to his remarks, before launching military operations against Iran, the United States expected Tehran to quickly agree to unconditional surrender. He claimed that this expectation was not fulfilled in reality.

He said that although the United States has long been accustomed to imposing its decisions on the international stage, such a strategy would not work against Iran.

Tehran Views Soft War as a New Battlefield

General Abdollahi said that modern warfare is no longer confined to the military battlefield. Conflicts are also being waged through the media, social media, the economy and public opinion.

In his words, a coordinated soft and cognitive war is currently being waged against Iran. He alleged that the objective is to create frustration among the Iranian people, weaken public trust in state institutions and create confusion over the country’s ability to resist external pressure.

Iran as a Model of Regional Resistance

In his remarks, Abdollahi also highlighted the regional and global impact of the Islamic Revolution.

According to Ali Abdollahi, the Islamic Republic of Iran has presented the world with a new model of resistance based on its religious and national values.

He further claimed that the future international order would be different from that of the past and that this transformation would bring positive outcomes for the Iranian people. He also said that US influence and power on the international stage would gradually weaken.

Call for a Counteroffensive on the Media Front

The Iranian military official also praised the role of the country’s media and those involved in countering soft warfare.

He said that, in confronting the enemy’s coordinated cognitive attacks, it is important to present facts and provide the public with accurate information. He praised the sustained efforts of journalists and relevant officials in this regard.

Claims Require Independent Verification

However, Major General Ali Abdollahi’s remarks primarily represent the assessment and political position of Iran’s military leadership. No similar public acknowledgment has been identified from the United States or Israel regarding a military defeat against Iran or the imposition of economic pressure specifically to offset military losses.

His comments should therefore be viewed as part of Iran’s official and military narrative amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict.

At present, alongside military confrontation, economic sanctions, information warfare and diplomatic pressure have also become important dimensions of the confrontation between the two countries. As a result, tensions between Iran and the United States could have long-term consequences not only for the military arena but also for regional security, the international economy and global diplomacy.
