US and Israel Suffered a Major Defeat and Failed to Achieve Their Stated Objectives — Iranian Army Spokesman

The United States and Israel suffered a major defeat in their recent military aggression against Iran and failed to achieve any of their stated objectives, Iranian Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia has claimed.

Speaking at a local event in Mashhad on Friday, Akraminia said the United States and Israel entered the conflict after making a series of miscalculations about Iran and its military capabilities. His remarks were reported by Press TV.

Akraminia claimed that Israel’s “inducement and threats” toward US President Donald Trump played a role in Washington’s military action against Iran. According to him, the United States sought to achieve several strategic objectives through its attacks on Iran.

He said, “The enemy had set many goals for its attacks, including destroying Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities, overthrowing the government and, of course, dividing Iran. But it failed to achieve any of these objectives.”

Claims of Miscalculations About Iran’s Capabilities

The Iranian military official said one of the aggressors’ major mistakes was their failure to correctly understand the mindset and position of the Iranian people. He also claimed that they had misjudged the military capabilities of the Islamic Republic.

According to Akraminia, an incorrect assessment of Iran’s political structure also affected the aggressors’ planning. He further claimed that they had failed to properly assess Tehran’s ability to control the Strait of Hormuz.

Akraminia also described the failure of NATO and US Western allies to directly join the war against Iran as another major miscalculation by the aggressors.

‘The Enemy Is Weak in the War of Wills’

The Iranian Army spokesman said, “The enemy is weak in the war of wills.” He contrasted this with what he described as the determination and resilience of the Iranian people.

Akraminia attributed Iran’s resistance to the country’s religious beliefs, firm determination and experience from previous wars.

According to his assessment, these factors have strengthened Iran’s ability to resist recent military aggression and withstand prolonged pressure.
