US-Built Passenger Boeing 737 Makes Emergency Landing After Engine Malfunction and Severe Vibrations on Flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah, Iran

A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 flying from Mashhad to Kermanshah in Iran encountered an emergency shortly after take-off and returned to Mashhad Airport. According to a CNN-News18 report, a tyre reportedly came off one of the aircraft’s wheels, after which an engine malfunction occurred and the aircraft began experiencing severe vibrations.
The Boeing 737 is a US-built narrow-body passenger aircraft. Aircraft of this model are manufactured at Boeing’s facilities in Washington state, United States.
Problem Emerges Shortly After Take-off
According to the report, a tyre reportedly came off one of the aircraft’s wheels shortly after it departed from Mashhad Airport. An engine malfunction then developed, causing the aircraft to shake violently.
The pilot reportedly informed passengers about the situation. As the aircraft continued to experience severe shaking, the pilots decided to turn back to Mashhad instead of continuing to Kermanshah.
The aircraft subsequently landed safely at Mashhad Airport.
Severe Vibrations Damage Parts of Cabin
The intense vibrations reportedly damaged parts of the aircraft’s cabin ceiling and overhead compartments. Passengers’ belongings fell from the overhead bins, with some items reportedly striking passengers.
Footage from inside the aircraft that circulated on social media showed passengers in a state of panic. Some were seen praying, while others were heard screaming in fear. The footage appeared to reflect widespread concern among passengers over the seriousness of the situation.
Safe Landing, No Injuries Reported
The aircraft ultimately landed safely at Mashhad Airport. Preliminary reports indicated that no passengers were injured in the incident.
However, detailed information has not yet been released regarding the exact technical relationship between the tyre coming off, the engine malfunction and the severe vibrations. The findings of an investigation by the relevant authorities are awaited to determine the precise cause of the incident.
