Iranian Armed Forces Will No Longer Be Bound by Any Geographical Limits Under the Supreme Leader’s Directive — Major General Ali Abdollahi

Tehran, Iran | November 1, 2026 | The Global Journal

Iran’s armed forces will deliver a response that is more severe and immediate than before if the country faces any new military aggression, warned Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces and Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. He stated that any potential retaliation would not be restricted by geographical boundaries and that Iranian forces could take necessary action without waiting for an adversary to launch a military operation.

On Saturday (October 31), Iran’s Supreme Leader and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly ordered an immediate response without geographical limitations in the event of any new aggression against Iran, according to the country’s semi-official Mehr News Agency. Following the directive, Abdollahi outlined the Iranian military’s position in a statement.

He said Iran’s armed forces were fully prepared to confront aggression of any kind or scale. Tehran, he added, was prepared to pay any price to defend the country. Abdollahi also said that any new aggression against Iran would be met with a different strategy and that the response would be significantly harsher than during what he described as the “Third Imposed War.”

Iran Monitoring Adversaries’ Movements

Abdollahi further stated that Iran’s military is regularly monitoring its adversaries’ movements, military preparations and activities by using its intelligence capabilities. The list of potential targets is also being updated, he added.

He warned that if signs of hostile action are confirmed, Iran’s armed forces would not wait for the adversary to begin a military operation before taking action. According to him, any new aggression would trigger an immediate and forceful response without geographical restrictions.

Military Position Centred on the Supreme Leader’s Directive

The Iranian military leadership’s statement emphasises its commitment to the Supreme Leader’s directives and the country’s defence capabilities. Abdollahi said Iran’s armed forces were prepared to protect the country’s security and sovereignty under any circumstances.

Tehran’s firm position comes amid continuing military tensions with the United States and Israel and growing international concerns over the possibility of renewed conflict. However, Abdollahi’s remarks represent Iran’s stated military position and warning; the actual scope of any potential military action will depend on how the situation develops.
