US Vice President JD Vance accuses Iran of 'economic terrorism' regarding its actions in the Strait of Hormuz.

US Vice President JD Vance has strongly condemned Iran's actions in the Strait of Hormuz, labeling them as "economic terrorism." He issued a clear warning that if Tehran creates any obstacles to international shipping, the United States will maintain a strict naval blockade on Iranian ports as a retaliatory measure.
Trump Administration's Counter-Strike Warning
In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Vice President Vance stated, “President Donald Trump has shown the world that two can play this game. If Iran is involved in economic terrorism, then no Iranian ship will be allowed to leave their ports.”
Implementation of Naval Blockade and Military Announcement
According to US military sources, a full naval blockade was enforced on all Iranian Gulf ports starting Monday at 1400 GMT. Washington took this decisive step following the failure of peace talks with Tehran over the weekend. The US military confirmed that this blockade applies only to Iranian-owned vessels or commercial ships associated with Iran. However, the Strait of Hormuz will remain open for other international shipping traffic.
President Trump’s Final Warning
In a statement shared on social media, President Donald Trump adopted an even more aggressive stance. He made it clear that “if any Iranian 'Fast Attack Craft' attempts to approach US or international vessels during the blockade, it will be immediately ELIMINATED.” Trump further claimed that a significant portion of the Iranian Navy has already been destroyed in recent conflicts.
Peace Talk Conditions and Nuclear Issues
Vice President JD Vance noted that while there was once "significant progress" in ceasefire negotiations with Tehran, the "ball is now in Iran's court." He emphasized that Iran must show flexibility and agree to the United States' primary conditions. Washington's key demands include:
Full US control over Iran’s enriched uranium.
Agreement to a stringent international verification system to ensure Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.
Middle East in Extreme Tension
President Trump claimed that a record 34 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, though this information has not been independently verified. Following the US naval blockade and Iran’s counter-threats, a state of war-like tension now prevails in one of the world's most critical commercial waterways, sparking new concerns for the global economy.
