Benjamin Netanyahu Intimidating Voters Amid Fears of Election Defeat, Warns Main Rival Gadi Eisenkot

Tel Aviv, Israel | October 28, 2026 | The Global Journal

Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar party and one of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s main political rivals, has accused Netanyahu of using intimidation, political tactics and misleading information to influence voters amid the country’s ongoing national election. The former Israeli military chief made the allegations in an address to supporters as the electoral contest intensified.

Eisenkot claimed that Netanyahu’s alleged use of political tactics and misleading information to win voter support was not new, arguing that similar methods had been employed during previous elections.

Allegations of Intimidating Voters

Eisenkot said efforts were being made to secure political support by spreading misleading information and using tactics designed to influence voters. In his view, such actions could affect ordinary voters’ decision-making and jeopardize the possibility of political change in Israel.

The allegations against Netanyahu highlight the intensity of the political rivalry during the election campaign. However, these remain Eisenkot’s claims and should not be treated as established facts without independently verified evidence.

Call for Voters to Remain Active Until 10 p.m.

Eisenkot urged his supporters to remain vigilant and active in response to what he described as Netanyahu’s tactics. According to his remarks, supporters should exercise their own voting rights and encourage others to cast their ballots before polling closes at 10 p.m.

He also called on supporters to contact friends and family members and encourage them to go to polling stations. Eisenkot argued that broad voter participation would be essential to bringing about political change.

Political Tensions Surrounding the Election

Political tensions between Netanyahu and the opposition have continued to intensify amid Israel’s national election. Voter turnout, allegations of electoral irregularities and competing claims about the election have contributed to an increasingly contentious political atmosphere.

Through his remarks, Eisenkot and the opposition camp have raised questions about Netanyahu’s election strategy. However, official voting data and the final results will be essential in determining the outcome of the election.
