President Donald Trump Kisses First Lady Melania Trump in Public at the White House Rose Garden!

Washington, United States | October 20, 2026 | The Global Journal

U.S. President Donald Trump has drawn attention during an event at the White House Rose Garden after making a remark about his wife and First Lady Melania Trump’s signature. The incident reportedly occurred during the signing of an executive order linked to Melania’s new initiative to improve women’s healthcare and medical research.

After signing the executive order, Trump handed his pen to Melania and asked her to sign the document. He then told the guests, “I don’t know if her signature means anything.”

Trump’s remark prompted uncomfortable laughter from some attendees. Melania, however, responded with a polite smile, saying, “Yours is the most important.”

According to the report, Melania had worked for a considerable time to help bring the initiative to fruition. In that context, some observers viewed Trump’s comment about her signature as dismissive.

New Initiative to Improve Women’s Healthcare

During the event, Melania Trump outlined a new plan to improve the standard of women’s healthcare in the United States. The initiative aims to address longstanding gaps in medical research, modernize healthcare and accelerate the discovery of new treatments and cures for women.

The plan includes establishing a dedicated division at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and creating a White House task force. According to the report, the task force will be led by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Speaking at the Rose Garden, Melania said, “I want to establish a new standard for women’s health in America.”

She added, “Previous generations fought for women’s rights. Our generation will fight to discover the cures that will ensure a woman can live her life in health and to the fullest.”

Melania’s Role in Advancing the Initiative

According to the report, Melania had encouraged her husband, Donald Trump, to take action on women’s healthcare. She also helped shape the plan by organizing meetings and discussions with doctors, federal health officials and other experts.

However, the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the women’s health task force has raised questions among some observers. They have questioned whether a woman with relevant healthcare expertise might have been a more appropriate choice to lead the initiative.

Trump Praises His Wife’s Signature After the Remark

Although Trump’s comment created an awkward moment during the event, he later reacted positively to Melania’s signature. Comparing it with his own, he said enthusiastically, “Oh! That looks very similar!”

The incident has also drawn attention to the role and limitations of the first lady during Melania’s second term. In the United States, the authority to issue executive orders rests with the president; the first lady does not independently possess the constitutional authority to issue such orders.

Melania’s previous “Be Best” initiative focused on children’s well-being, online safety and drug abuse prevention. During Trump’s second term, she has also been involved in efforts related to foster care reform and expanding the use of artificial intelligence in education.
